Although the end results are most worth it, cleaning can be a tedious task so why not make it enjoyable? Stick some music on and incorporate essential oils into your regime! There are many ways you can enjoy all the great benefits of essential oils whilst you clean! Not only this, but replacing conventional, chemical laden cleaning products with natural alternatives will benefit the health of you and those around you and have a much smaller impact on the environment.
Day 2 – Spring cleaning the bathroom!
• Get those bathroom mirrors gleaming with all natural Lime and Vinegar mix.
Take one cup on water, one cup of white vinegar and 10-12 drops of Lime essential oil!
Citrus oils such as Lime, Lemon and Grapefruit work wonders as part of a natural cleaning regime! Not only do they smell wonderfully fresh and uplifting, they help to cut through grease and stains and their anti-bacterial properties means they help keep surfaces clean and free from nasty bacteria.
Ideally combine the three ingredients in a spray bottle, give it a good shake and spray generously over your household mirrors.
• Peppermint oil for sparkling tiles.
Invigorating and refreshing! Peppermint oil’s energizing properties are sure to make cleaning the bathroom seem like a less tedious task! Its anti-bacterial and deodorizing effects.
Take two cups of water and two tea spoons of peppermint oil. Mix them in a spray bottle, give it a good shake and get cleaning! Spray generously over the bath and sink. Allow to sit for a few minutes then wipe away with a wet sponge. Enjoy the energizing and invigorating scents of peppermint whilst you clean and rest assure that the anti-bacterial properties are getting to work to leave you with a clean and fresh smelling bathroom
• Natural toilet cleaner with Tea Tree essential oil.
Conventional toilet bathroom and toilet cleaners can be incredibly overpowering and toxic. Luckily there are some incredibly simple ways to make your own natural alternative. A simple yet effective cleaner could consist of the following oh-so simple combination:
Combine one cup of white vinegar with half a tea spoon (roughly 35-40 drops) in a spray bottle. Give it a good shake and spray generously into the toilet bowl. Allow to sit for half an hour then scrub away. The tea tree oil will get to work on the nasty bacteria and odors, whilst the vinegar will help remove grime and stains.
*Handy tip – to enjoy the scent of your favourite essential oil by placing a few drops on the inside of a toilet roll!
