Many healthcare, beauty and lifestyle bloggers suggest the most common steps to home spa - cleanse, hot baths, facials and moisturising. However, as easy as it sounds, the trick is in picking up the products that would provide a truly relaxing and soothing experience. Have you tried some of our essential oils and aromatherapy products for your spa day?

Here are a few products that could be naturally healing and fit into any home spa routine.

Mood & Aroma

When you walk into a spa, it is the aromas that suddenly calm your senses and assure you that it’s going to be a peaceful experience. An easy trick to a heavenly scent in your room is to add few drops of essential oil to water in your oil burner. Essential oils have therapeutic properties that can have a huge impact on our mood. Different essential oils vary in benefits, aroma and effects. So, it is important to choose your oil based on your personal preference. I personally adore floral fragrances and the Ylang Ylang essential oil never disappoints in enriching my mood. You can also prepare your own blends with a few different essential oils to suit your needs. Why not try some of our anti-viral essential oils here

Hot Baths

We all know that a long hot bath can be the best way to elevate your mood. Hot baths are not just relaxing but are also great for your health. I usually soak myself in some Epsom salts & a bath oil. It is a wonderful combination of comfort and luxury to take my mind off isolation. Epsom salts have proved to benefit the body and mind. They are known to relax muscles and relieve body aches and headaches. They act as mood stabilizers and can relieve stress and anxiety. Bath oils on the other hand can hydrate and heal dry or irritated skin. Amphora Aromatics have a wide range of specially formulated, pre-blended bath oils that can suit different skin types & requirements. I simply add a glug of the Relaxing Bath oil to my bath water and enjoy the benefits of Lavender, Chamomile Roman and Melissa blended in Sweet almond oil. As the name suggests – Amphora’s relaxing bath oil is truly calming, stress releasing and luxurious.

Face mask

It’s not just your body and mind, your face needs equal pampering as well because a facial massage leads to blood circulation, activation of pressure points that are linked to the nervous system that ultimately help reducing stress. We stock a vast variety of natural face masks catered for your individual skin types. I start by using the Amphora's Organic rose water as a skin toner to cleanse my skin of impurities before applying the gorgeous Frankincense & Rose Clay Face Mask. This face mask is the star of our rejuvenating deep cleansing range of face masks. It is intensely nourishing and balancing with a mix of natural ingredients and vitamins leaving my skin soft, radiant and fresh. You can view our range of face masks and floral waters here.

Moisturise

The final step to your spa session is to generously moisturise your body. Although this may seem like an easy step, it is important to do this step right when your skin is still wet in order to get the maximum benefits from your moisturiser. Focusing on your body while applying the moisturiser can go a long way in improving the health and hydration of your skin. I usually go for a combination of shea butter for my body and a face cream. My personal favourite is the Whipped Jasmin and Mimosa Shea Butter for the body. This shea butter is exotic, conditioning and intensely moisturising for an all over body use. It is great for all skin types especially dry, sensitive and irritated skin. I couple this with a Jasmin, Mimosa & Rosehip Cream for the face. This cream is made with herbal extracts and essential oils that conditions and nourishes the skin. Rosehip, with its antioxidant properties, helps to keep the skin radiant, firm and supple, giving a cleaner youthful appearance.

At the end of this spa evening, my skin feels rejuvenated and my body relaxed. Spa sessions at home can be relatively easy and don’t need to be complex or expensive. All you need is a few good products that will give you a relaxing & lavish experience.
