Pure essential oils can make a big difference to our health at this time of year. As the temperature drops and colds & flu start to spread it's a good idea to regularly burn essential oils to keep those nasty bugs at bay.
This week we’ll give you some blends aimed at tackling various issues and problems of the respiratory tract. As well as clearing a blocked nose and aiding breathing essential oils can work in various other to act as an anti-inflammatory, an antispasmodic or an antiviral. This may help to kill off bacteria which can be the root cause of infections.

That feeling of being bunged up is never nice. The symptoms are usually medically harmless but they can be very irritating, affecting our sleep and interfering with our day to day wellbeing.
The following blend can be used as a steam inhalation to clear the airways. Add to a bowl of steaming water and cover head with a towel. Bend over the bowl and take deep breaths for 2-3 minutes. Alternatively you can add the oils to a burner or vaporiser and benefit from the properties of the oils over a couple of hours. If you'd like to burn the blend for longer simply refresh when the initial oils have evaporated.

· 2 Drops Eucalyptus – often the first choice of essential oils for treating cold and flu symptoms and there’s a good reason for that. It’s a natural decongestant, anti-viral, anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial. This makes it the ideal remedy for treating sore throats, colds, coughs and nasal congestion.
