It may also be useful to use against colds when diluted in carrier oil to create a massage treatment. Sandalwood Australian has historically been thought to have aphrodisiac properties. Sandalwood has been used for thousands of years in both Ayurvedic and Aborignal medicine to help combat stress and various skin conditions.

Extracted from a native tree of Western Australia, closely related to the Indian Santalum album, it has high levels of active fragrance compounds.

To diffuse in a traditional burner, simply fill dish with water and add a few drops of oil on top before lighting the candle. For electrical fragrancers, follow instructions given by the manual. For massage: dilute in a carrier oil and gently massage over the skin. Add a few drops to a handkerchief or inhale directly from the bottle if you are on the go. Dilute in distilled water and pour into spray bottle for an all-natural room fragrancer.

You may find that Sandalwood Australian blends especially well with Bergamot, Black Pepper, Geranium, Lavender, Myrrh, Rose, Vetivert and Ylang-Ylang.

Dilute to 1% in a base cream or lotion and use in your skincare regime to help balance oily skin and reduce breakouts. Add a few drops to a burner to help you wind down and relax before bed. Add 2-3 drops to a warm bath if suffering from a cold to help soothe the muscles and relax the mind. Add a few drops to your shampoo to help add moisture and shine to dry hair types.

Sandalwood Australian is the ethical alternative to the Indian Sandalwood Mysore which is now a protected species. If you find anybody selling Sandalwood Mysore question them very carefully about where they have sourced it from as the distribution of Sandalwood Mysore is very heavily regulated due to illegal logging and felling of the Santalum album tree which has threatened the survival of the species. Sandalwood Australian comes mainly from Western Australian from a well managed plantation roughly 3 times the size of France.
